Even if these guys are gang members, they must have due process and humane treatment. Otherwise, we're no different from other authoritarian countries. Thanks for your continuing support! Hugs, Linda
You said it all, Linda. No way to top that. April Fools Day is cancelled since nothing can be more Foolish than what is happening in USA National leadership these days.
Thank you. If they want to follow due process and treat these people humanely (i.e. follow the law) then OK. Not what appears to be happening so far. And calling someone here illegally with no other infractions a criminal is like saying you're a criminal for taking paper clips from the office. Best Wishes, Linda
If all strong tough looking young men with obvious tattoos were rounded up, the NBA courts and NFL football fields, would not have enough players for any games!

According to some, I should give the government carte blanche to round up whomever they wish. I have no idea whether the soccer star or any of these people is a gang member. I only ask for due process. And yes, it's OUR Father (Mother) who begs us to love mercy, act justly and walk humbly. ~Best, Linda
We as individual Americans must understand history, and our history, in order to connect the dots of any moment in time. Abandoning due process and trivializing the rule of law has repeatedly not turned out well; history is littered with horrendously frightful examples.
Thank you for highlighting the soccer player; without due process no one knows yet his whole self. But one thing is sure, our administration even skipped over a show trial and zoomed directly to “show”—the optics of the white uniforms, the forced postures, the shaved heads. Unfortunately, it is powerful imagery.
Thanks so much for putting the rule of law on center stage.
I wasn't trying to distort the story, as has been commented, but only to say that democracy erodes quietly at first, with people everyone assumes are less than. But it never stops there. These people are people, not animals, and the scene was meant to set a dehumanizing message. Due process may be unwieldy and slow, but it's what sets us apart--the rule of law. Love you, LBB
It's like every day is a new horror with this President. And I noticed you tried to give a soft answer several times but Carolyn had to keep up with his support. It amazes me in a very bad way.
Everyone should think for themselves, but alas, there's solid brainwashing out there. If some need deportation, they must have due process and humane treatment. And saying they're criminals because they're here illegally doesn't cut it. The government should produce evidence if they want to do stuff like this. Thanks for reading. Hugs, Linda
I do not think our current liars in government do know what they are doing. What is happening here does look a lot like what happened in the 30's and 40's. It's not so much about whether they are or are not gang members, it's about due process and that did not happen.
I have to agree. And why the harsh treatment? Handcuffed and herded, heads down? Just show me the evidence and give these folks (illegal or not) due process. ~Linda
Linda, again, you have distorted view of the whole picture. You have no idea about who's a gang member. I think our government officials know what they are doing. Write about something that you are for sure of.
All I want is for these people to have due process. In a country that is built upon the rule of law, I think it's not too much to ask. Sorry we disagree. Best, Linda
I admire your ability to express yourself so clearly in writing, and I appreciate you sharing it with the rest of us. Hannah

So well woven, Linda.

They are illegals
You have a point.
And you do know things about the holocaust. Stick to those facts and don't assume about what's happening with these gang members
Maybe that's good advice!
