I highly recommend the book MY BODY IS NOT A PRAYER REQUEST. It changed how I saw. It helped think about the gifts the disabled have to give to abled..and not to think of disabled or myself as less . I think you would love this book.

Merri,

I LOVE that book! Thank you for suggesting it. As you can probably tell, I have a ways to go to embracing my body as it is. It's true that my bleeding heart is partly due to knowing how it feels to be excluded or ignored. Thanks! ~Linda

ditto. I like your "sort of" description. After I shattered my ankle, I have felt that. I do not need a wheelchair but walking is still hard/not as it was..and getting older magnifies that.

Somehow we need to get beyond labels and categories and just get to being with and knowing each other.

Holly,

Agreed. I aspire to being with more people and knowing them as humans who are made for love. Maybe everyone is Sorta Something, huh? Hugs to you. ~Linda

I'm a beneficiary of you, the one-hand-typist's many writing tips, though I seldom tell you. Yes, from believing to belonging. And I've found I belong to friends and family members who don't share my political views. Nevertheless together we help each other inch a bit closer to Christ .
