Pam, The only thing I regret is not being more open in childhood. I kept myself closed off to guard against bullying or rejection. In the last days of 8th grade, we got to wear an old "dad" shirt for kids to autograph. One of the popular boys drew a circle around my left breast and wrote "Big Boobs" next to it. That cured my fantasy of joining the in crowd. I wish I'd stood up for myself instead of laughing it off as I burned inside. Why are middle school kids such jerks, anyway? And why do so many adults still act like they're in middle school? Thanks for reading--I'm so lucky to have found you as a friend after all this time. Much Love, Linda
I’m one of those people who want to get deep immediately too! Cut the small talk. This is a difficult thing to be with online dating at 71.
I tried a first date recently and spent the entire time being mansplained the Senate. He never got to hear my in-depth theories on the effect having had an owner die has on shelter cats.
Damn straight! You are much braver to date than I would be. When my adoptive dad died at around age 60, Mom started dating again. I tried to school her on STDs and not going to meet markets. I think my own kids would likely try to educate me. Thanks for the comradery! ~Linda
Hi Hosanna, So do you have synesthesia too? Maybe it's a family thing? One tidbit: All the days of the week have a color (to me) and have since I was very young. Music tends to have shapes. I'd love to know more about your experiences. Meanwhile, here's lotsa luv. Auntie Linda
Well, one of the cool things about all this is that I notice everything more acutely. And whenever the cross-current kicks in (did you know that Wednesday is orange with palm trees?) I can think of YOU. Love, Auntie
Even if you are autistic you are so loved. B.
B.,
Aww, thank you. Back atcha. ~Linda
I have to say, every time I think of you going through all you did as a child, it makes my heart hurt. I believe you are remarkable.

Your openness about your vulnerabilities sets a high bar for those of us who have the privilege of reading your posts. Thank you.
Gosh, Hannah, I never thought of that. I just write my heart and try to nudge readers toward the One who is love. ~Linda
A wise man once said "all you need is love"
Tim,

His loss, am I right?

But is it bravery, or stupidity? 🤔
Only you can say! -Linda
